Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Aruna Law Firm ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our website, the Vigil compliance platform, and the Visently mobile application (together, the "Services").
We are a law firm. The confidentiality of the information entrusted to us is central to our profession, and we treat data submitted through our Services with the same care.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact information, such as your name, email address, and company, when you submit a form, request a demo, or book a consultation.
- Immigration-related documents and details that you or your employer upload to Vigil or Visently, such as passports, visas, I-20s, I-94 records, approval notices, and related dates and statuses.
- Questionnaire responses submitted through employer-initiated immigration questionnaires.
- Communications you send to us, including messages, emails, and consultation requests.
Information collected automatically
- Basic usage data, such as pages visited, device type, and general location derived from IP address, used to operate and improve the Services.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Services, including tracking document validity, deadlines, and statuses.
- To provide legal services where an engagement exists, including audits and consultations.
- To send alerts and reminders you or your employer have configured.
- To respond to inquiries and schedule consultations or demos.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Services.
- To comply with legal and professional obligations.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Within an employer engagement. If your employer uses Vigil, designated personnel at your employer can see status-level information about your case, such as visa type and key dates. Access controls limit what employers see; private documents remain restricted as configured.
- Service providers. We use vetted vendors for hosting and infrastructure, bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, regulation, or court order, subject to any applicable privilege or professional duty.
4. Attorney-Client Privilege
Information exchanged within an active attorney-client engagement is handled under the professional responsibility rules that govern our practice. Use of the website or apps alone does not create an attorney-client relationship; see our Terms of Service.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information in transit and at rest, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to protect your account credentials.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet professional recordkeeping obligations that apply to law firms, and comply with law. You may request deletion of your Visently account data at any time, subject to those obligations.
7. Your Choices
- You can access, correct, or export the documents and details you store in Visently.
- You can adjust or disable non-critical notifications in the app.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and significant changes affecting platform or app users will be communicated directly.
